Media Helping Media (MHM) exists to provide free training resources for all involved in the media in transition states, post-conflict countries and areas where the media is still developing.
The modules have been written by media professionals and media trainers and donated free-of-charge. Many were written for training sessions delivered in the majority world.
The site aims to offer free training resources to help journalists produce accurate, fair, objective and impartial journalism in order to inform the public debate.

The history of Media Helping Media
MHM was set up in 2005 following a chat between two former BBC colleagues, David Brewer and Bob Eggington, who had worked together at the BBC’s political unit in London and were part of the launch team for BBC News Online. Both have experience as reporters and managers in print, broadcast, and online journalism.
In recent years David and Bob have been working in the field of international media development. They became involved in projects training journalists in basic journalism skills and helping media managers adapt to changing audience behaviour.

Essentials of anti-corruption II: Development programming
4-week, expert-led course. November 2021 (exact dates tbd). Gain practical knowledge about corruption and anti-corruption in development work. Apply anti-corruption programming principles to an area of your choice.

Facilitated, expert-led course.
Free of charge.
In order to ensure a shared basic knowledge of definitions, terminology and concepts of corruption and anti-corruption, prospective participants must complete our self-paced Essentials of Anti-Corruption I module before they can take this course.
Duration
4 weeks.
Participants will need 3–5 hours per week to review the material, contribute to discussions, and complete a short assignment. Support from U4 advisers and affiliated experts is available.

Additional dates will be offered depending on demand. Please register for this course to receive information on upcoming dates.
Who can apply
U4 online courses are primarily for U4 partner staff and their guests. Partner staff can sign up directly, see below.
